National Labor & Management Conference looks to InterCEP for Insights

Leaders from labor and management invited the director of NYU's
International Center for Enterprise Preparedness to address their annual forum. InterCEP's director, Bill Raisch, presented to the conference on organizational preparedness and key criteria for success. He outlined the newly designated National Preparedness Standard (NFPA 1600). He also discussed the value of Employee Emergency Response Teams and a new training initiative of the Center which will train key staff in organizations so they can return and train others on critical skills. The program is based on FEMA's CERT program but adds an organizational focus. Key skills taught include emergency medical skills, light search and rescue, team organization and light fire suppression.

The National Labor & Management Conference convened over 350 leaders of labor and management in Hollywood, Florida on February 17th – 22nd, 2005.
