This workshop aims to inspire scholarly reflection on the nature and importance of storytelling.   Workshop events address issues raised by the performance of stories as well as underlying theoretical questions about oral and written modes, truth and fiction, self-knowledge and our relation to the past, and storytelling's role in healing and conflict resolution. Meetings throughout the year will include performances by professionals and exploration of storytelling across the disciplines.  Participants include faculty and students from the NYU community and beyond in the professions, the humanities, and the arts.  Events include lectures, roundtable discussions, performances and demonstration talks.
