Your Local Human Resources Officer
Each school or administrative division has a Human Resources Officer (HRO)
who provides overall strategic guidance to the unit head on human resources
matters. The HRO's office provides a wide range of human resources services
to managers, supervisors and individual employees in accordance with University
and school or division policies and practices and in support of the goals of
the unit. Your local HRO has experience handling employment and work-related
matters and can answer your questions in these areas; in addition, they act
as liaison with the Human Resources Division and other related administrative
offices such as Payroll, Academic Appointments and Student Employment for guidance
and support, as necessary. Depending on the size of your school/division, your
local HRO may have additional staff to help provide these services. Be sure
to check with your HRO's office to see who is designated to assist with a particular
area.
