Military EncampmentFor Office (codes 106/116) and Technical (codes 104/114) staff: Leaves of absence for the performance of military encampment duty with the United States Armed Forces or with a Reserve component thereof shall be granted up to a maximum of two weeks without pay. An employee must present a copy of his or her military encampment orders to his or her supervisor. Those who are called to active duty for a period in excess of two weeks shall be entitled to leave of absence status and/or reemployment rights to the extent required by state and federal law. See the Military Leave for Active Duty policy. An employee may not be required, but may request, to use his or her earned vacation time during the period absent for military service. For Administrative and Professional staff (codes 100/110): If an employee is required to serve military encampment duty, he or she will be granted up to two weeks off with pay. Time used for military encampment duty will not be charged against vacation. An employee must present a copy of his or her military encampment orders to the person to whom he or she reports. If his or her military duty is for a longer period of time, an employee may be entitled to a longer period of unpaid leave in accordance with applicable law.
