ARTICLE 37 - DISCIPLINE FOR EXCESSIVE ABSENTEEISM AND TARDINESS
A. Discipline for excessive tardiness is to be handled in accordance with the
guidelines set forth in Appendix D.
B. Discipline for absenteeism problems will be handled on a case by case basis
and must be for just cause. The University will continue to follow its progressive
discipline practice which usually provides for an oral and written warning before
suspension[s] or discharge, but which allows for skipping steps depending on
the seriousness of the misconduct involved. All discipline is subject to the
grievance and arbitration procedure.
