ARTICLE 24 - LAYOFFS AND DISCHARGE
A. In case of layoffs of employees, wherever compatible with the work requirements,
which compatibility shall be judged solely by the Employer, seniority shall
prevail.
B. The Employer has the right to discharge, suspend, or discipline any employee
for just cause. Notice of any suspension or discharge will be sent to the Union
and appropriate shop steward but failure to do so may not be the basis for setting
aside or reducing the disciplinary action or for any penalty against the Employer.
