Flexible Spending Accounts

All full-time, faculty and professional research staff are eligible to participate in NYU’s Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) program, which is administered by the UnitedHealthcare Corporation.

Commutation Expense Reimbursement Account (CERA)

The Commutation Expense Reimbursement Account (CERA) will allow you to reduce your taxable salary to assist you in covering the cost of your commutation expenses to and from your NYU work site. There are two types of accounts:

• Mass Transit
• Parking

All full-time regular employees are eligible to place pre-tax dollars into a mass transit and/or parking account and then reimburse themselves for the cost of commuting to and from an NYU work-site. The maximum you can contribute to the CERA changes annually in accordance with government regulations.
