Newly hired employees will be contacted with detailed information about the NYU benefits offered to them. Once enrolled, employees will have an opportunity to change their benefit elections during the open enrollment period, which is announced each fall, or following a qualifying status change (e.g. birth of a child or marriage). The BRC home page is the launching pad for benefits information, wellness tools and resources throughout the year. There employees will find details about plan waiting periods, coverage provisions, availability of coverage for eligible dependents and continuation of benefit provisions. In addition, employees can obtain information about the impact of Life Events on benefits and allowable changes to benefit elections that can be made outside of the open enrollment period. Employees can also make certain changes to benefit plan elections when permitted by accessing the benefits self service functions found on the Benefits Resource Center. A personalized benefits statement for the employee is available at all times. |
