Hiring SalariesAdministrative & Professional(codes 100/110) PositionsThe hiring salary is usually the minimum up to the midpoint of the applicable salary range. Before making any salary offer above the minimum, the hiring manager must consult with the Human Resources Representative. The Human Resources Representative will consider such factors as the breadth and depth of the candidate’s experience, salaries of employees in comparably graded positions within the unit and any special market considerations. No employee may be paid below the minimum of the applicable salary range. Office/Clerical (codes 106/116) and Laboratory/Technical(codes 104/114) PositionsThe hiring salary is usually the minimum of the salary range. A hiring salary above this must be approved in advance by the Compensation Office. No employee may be paid below the minimum of the applicable salary range. Service (codes 107/117) PositionsThe pay rate for each job is a rate specified in the applicable collective bargaining agreement. The pay rates for service positions not covered by a collective bargaining agreement are determined by the Compensation Office. |
