Welcome to Weinstein! Conveniently located as close to “main campus” as you can get, Weinstein is a dynamic and diverse community consisting of almost 600 first year residents as one of the First Year Residential Experience (FYRE) halls. We have four Explorations themed communities in Weinstein this year: NYU CORPS, Gotham, Explore U and Concrete Images, each with their own faculty affiliate who works closely with the floor community. The professional staff consists of a Community Development Educator (CDE) and an Assistant Community Development Educator (ACDE), both of whom have offices located in the building and welcome any questions or concerns students may have. There are also 30 Resident Assistants (RAs) here to serve you, two per floor which means we have the lowest resident-RA ratio on campus!
We have a wide range of facilities in Weinstein, including the College of Arts and Science Learning Center which provides course specific tutoring as well as Academic Success Workshops (i.e. Time Management, Study Skills, Note taking, Reading, etc) in addition to a small computer and printing lab for you to use. The 2B Lounge on the second floor on the B-side is our main space for RAs to hold events and activities and is often used as a study lounge, as long as the large screen TV is not on! In the sub-cellar there is a workout room, game room, music practice rooms with pianos, laundry room, and study lounge. We have many dining options: Real Food @ Weinstein cafeteria (aka "Downstein"), the Food Court (aka "Upstein") featuring the only Chic-fil-A in New York City, and the Kosher cafeteria. Our hall also features a very active hall government called the Weinstein Hall Advisory Team, or better known as our W.H.A.T. Hall Council who advocates for their fellow residents while also planning great events throughout the year.
What better place to be then Weinstein! The year will provide a host of programs that will give you opportunities to get to know one another and explore NYU, New York City, and surrounding areas. Being at the heart of NYU and NYC is sure to make anyone’s experience a great one and with its amazing location you will see why so many students love Weinstein!
