Welcome to The Green House at 7th Street! Located in the heart of the East Village, The Green House is located on the south side of 7th Street, in between 2nd and 3rd Avenues. Approximately 80 upperclass students and 2 Resident Assistants call this dynamic and diverse community home. At 7th Street, we share many of our programs and our staff with our East Village neighbors in Alumni Hall, or as we call it, The 7A Partnership.
As the home of The Green House, 7th St. offers residents a number of great opportunities to get involved in sustainability efforts in the NYU and New York communities. All of our residents are expected to participate by becoming involved in one of our four focuses: Conservation Programming, Communal Dinners, Community Service (hopefully through the local community gardens), and Community Development (which focuses on working with ResEd, Housing & Facilities to implement improvements to the building).
One way to take a leadership role in these efforts is to become a Branch Advocate. Our Branch Advocacy program, similar to a Hall Council or an E-board, assists in the coordination of our efforts, along with RAs Piper and Andrew, to provide our residents an enriched experience around urban environmentalism.
We hope that you will join us this year and get to know one another by exploring NYU, the East Village and becoming advocates for sustainability!
