Hello and welcome to Rubin Hall. As the Community Development Educator here at Rubin, I am very excited to share your first year at NYU and look forward to sharing great experiences throughout this upcoming year. I call St.Louis, MO home, although I spent the past few years in Colorado. I received my B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with emphasis areas in nursing, sociology, and women's studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and my M.A. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Northern Colorado. In my free time, I enjoy photography, rollerblading, reading, seeing live theater and exploring NYC. However, I find working with college students one of the most rewarding experiences and consider myself lucky to have the privilege of working in Residential Education. Getting to know many different students, and people who are different than myself is something I truly enjoy and I encourage you to stop by my office on the 2nd floor of Rubin. Not only am I here to support you, but I also serve as a resource within the community and hope to help you make your year at Rubin the best start to your NYU experience.

Hi! I am Elisabeth Turner, the Assistant Community Development Educator for Rubin Hall. I am thrilled to be in my second year at New York University and on the East Coast! I was born and raised in California and received my Bachelors from UCLA in Political Science. After graduating, I worked as a professional in the UCLA residence halls and have enjoyed combining the energy and unique qualities of Los Angeles and New York college life. When I’m not interacting with all of you in Rubin Hall, I stay busy with my passion for politics, volunteering with an international development organization, and the constant pursuit of new experiences and adventures.
While Manhattan is certainly a big change for me – I have already discovered that I can pursue all of my favorite activities here in the city…going to the theater, enjoying a good book in the park, exploring new places, meeting new people, and tasting lots of good food, as well as having many new adventures! I am confident that your first year at NYU, in the city, or even on the East Coast will be complimented by the people, programs, and opportunities at Rubin Hall. Take advantage of all there is to do and seek out the many resources at your disposal. If you have questions or want to know how you can get involved, stop by my office inside the study lounge on the second floor and say hi! I can’t wait to share in your first year experience!
