Due to the Twenty Sixth Street residence halls proximity to the NYU Medical Center and Dental School, don't be surprised when you see many of the 250 graduate residents sporting scrubs. The 350 better-dressed undergrads, however, are drawn to the area for its unique location which provides a welcome escape from campus but without the sacrifice of convenience as there are many transportation options to whisk you to campus in only ten minutes time. The location, nestled between the neighborly quiet of Gramercy, the South East Asian flair of Murray Hill and just two blocks from the East River is always full of surprises. Cheap curry, a read in Madison Square Park or a walk along the river are always just a step out your door. The Twenty Sixth Street residence hall also features amazing views of the Empire State Building and other notable landmarks, a study lounge and a downstairs community room with floor length mirrors and a large screen television.
