Welcome to NYU Housing

Under the auspices of New York University's Division of Campus Services, the Department of Housing is responsible for the overall administration and operation of NYU's 23 residence halls, home to over 11,000 undergraduate and graduate students during the academic year and summer session.

The Housing Department works in coordination with the offices of Admissions, Bursar, Facilities, Public Safety, Registrar, Residential Education, Student Affairs, and the Inter-Residence Hall Council (IRHC) to provide and maintain comfortable, safe and secure living environments. The Department of Housing is responsible for the room assignments and room change processes, charge adjustments, and adherence to the terms and conditions of the housing license. The department is staffed by full-time professionals who supervise the various activities that make up the administrative component of residential student living. They also assist and support the day-to-day operations of the individual residence halls.
