Announcement: New Office of Residential Life and Housing Services.

As part of the University's ongoing effort to address the economic challenges and continue to provide high quality service to all students, a consolidation of the Department of Housing and the Department of Residential Education was announced in May 2009. This new organization, under the Division of Student Affairs will be renamed The Office of Residential Life and Housing Services.

This reorganization will result in the creation of a new house system managed at the local level by a strong team of professionals who will be supported at the department level by a merged central administration, re-aligned to best meet the needs of the educational enterprise, community development, and operations.

Overall, the new organizational structure will result in more streamlined resources for students and will generate meaningful savings for the University in these times of economic pressure. It is our intent to fully transition to the new organization by mid-August, but would like to provide the appropriate contact information for questions and concerns you may have at this time: For questions related to applications, assignments, room and board charges, pre check-in room changes, please call (212) 998-4600 or email: housing@nyu.edu.
