ADMISSION We look for evidence of outstanding academic achievement and an interest in the Middle East demonstrated through education, life or work experience.Applicants from all undergraduate majors are eligible to apply to the program. We value, but do not require, a background or undergraduate training in a Middle Eastern language or in the politics, history and cultures of the region. We require scores from the Graduate Record Examination (general only), and for international students, scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). International students who have undergraduate degrees from U.S. schools, or other universities where English is the primary language of instruction for all classes, are not required to submit TOEFL scores. Joint Journalism applicants have to meet the additional admissions requirements of the Journalism Department. You must meet all Graduate School of Arts and Science admissions' deadlines. We accept applications for entry for the Fall semester. Applicants for Spring entry are considered only in exceptional circumstances and cannot be considered for financial aid. To request an application for the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, or to download an application, go to http://gsas.nyu.edu/page/grad.admissionsapplication.html To apply online, go to http://www.nyu.edu/gsas/online.
