COURSES
The Center offers a wide variety of courses on the Middle East.
Courses are regularly given in anthropology, comparative literature,
economics, fine arts, history, law, literature, Middle East studies,
philosophy, politics, religion, and sociology.
Modern languages taught at the Center include Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi,
Persian, Turkish and Urdu. They are taught at the Elementary through
Advanced levels. Medieval Arabic, Colloquial Egyptian and Arabic
composition classes are offered. Some undergraduate and graduate
course offerings through the Skirball Department of Hebrew and Judaic
Studies are taught in Hebrew. Ancient languages taught at NYU include
Ancient Egyptian, Akkadian, Aramaic, and Ugaritic.
