From May 18-20, 2006, 600 distinguished decision-makers and 200 of the most talented students from all over the world will meet in St. Gallen, Switzerland, to debate fundamental challenges of our time and to develop innovative approaches to the most pressing issues in economics, society and culture.
For more than 30 years the St. Gallen Symposium - entirely organized by the ISC, 26 students from the Universities of St. Gallen and Harvard - has attracted outstanding personalities from business, academics, politics and society such as Paul S. Atkins, Fujio Cho, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, James Schiro, Amartya Sen as well as James D. Wolfensohn. All participants are personally invited by the ISC to guarantee that the discussions are carried out on the highest level. To make sure that this high standard is matched by the attending students, they are selected by a Jury on the basis of their contribution to the St. Gallen Wings of Excellence Award, the biggest student competition of its kind, with over 1000 entries from over 50 countries.
