Installing MikTeX and winedt
Installing MiKTeX and WinEdt
Get Ghostscript and GSView for proper functionality
in WinEdt and MiKTex. They are necessary to view and print postscript files.
- Download the installer here (You only need one file, the highest-numbered one)
- Double-click on the installer
- Follow the on-screen instructions
- If you have a previous version of MiKTeX installed on your computer,
remove it via Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. You may also want to
remove everything in your current TEXMF root, e.g. C:\texmf\miktex.
- Download an installer from the MiKTeX website, preferrably the "Basic" installer.
- Double-click on the installer
- Follow the on-screen instructions
- The "Basic" installer gives you a basic MiKTeX system, then lets you download other packages as needed. You can install packages easily by using the MikTeX Update Wizard, which can be found on the Start Menu under Programs->MikTeX->MiKTeX Update Wizard.
