Dormitory housing at NYU during Feminist Theory and Music 8

We have reserved a limited number of spaces (60 singles and 60 double/triple spaces) for conference attendees in NYU’s air-conditioned Weinstein Hall, 5 University Place, from Thursday morning, June 23 to Sunday noon, June 26. (Some percentage of these spaces–perhaps as many as 40–will be available for early check-in the evening of Wednesday, June 22.) Weinstein Hall has an on-site administrator, and an NYU Public Safety Officer posted in the lobby at all times. The nearest subway is at 8 th St and Broadway, where the “W” and “R” lines pass.

These are unadorned dormitory bedrooms, furnished with a bed, desk, dresser and closet/wardrobe for each guest. Each bedroom has two or three bed; guests requesting singles will not be assigned roommates. The bedroom may be part of a suite with one other bedroom inside the suite.

Each individual unit (whether a stand-alone bedroom or a two-bedroom suite) has a private bathroom. None have kitchens, telephone, television, or computer services. Weinstein Hall has a lounge with a large television that can be used by guests as long as the space is not otherwise reserved.

When guests check in at the reception desk, they will receive room keys, a temporary identification card allowing them access to the residence hall, and a linen package continaing a sheet, blanket, pillow, pillow case, and small towel. Linens should be returned to the reception desk at departure. Weinstein Hall has a basement laundry room that is available to guests. NYU does not provide toiletries.

Rooms are cleaned prior to occupancy and after departure, but there is not cleaning service during a guest’s occupancy of a bedroom or suite. Either single or double rooms (each furnished with desks, beds, closets, and each with private bath).  While the residence hall provides basic towels and linens, we strongly recommend that you bring your own linens (extra-long twin bed) and towels.

Single accommodations are $65 per night, while doubles/triples are $45 per night, per person. Rooms will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. WE MUST RECEIVE YOUR PRE-PAID RESERVATION BY THE MORNING OF MAY 18. Cancellations prior to June 8 are subject to a penalty of $25, while cancellations between June 8 and June 21 are subject to a penalty of $50.

To reserve (and, if you like, to indicate a choice of roommate(s) and suitemates), download and complete the reservation form, and send it with a check made out to “NYU” to the following address:
