Friedrich
Heinrich Kern received both his M.A. degrees in piano and composition
from Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts in Germany, where
he was active both as a student and teaching assistant. His principal
teachers included Rudolf Meister, Ulrich Leyendecker and Sidney
Corbett. Additionally, he spent one year studying traditional Korean
music in Korea. His creative output spans a wide range of music: works
for orchestra, film, and dance, as well as electronic and instrumental
music. Kern's works have been programmed and commissioned by
prestigious ensembles and festivals like the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the
Theatre of the City of Heidelberg, Schwetzinger Festspiele, National
Theatre Mannheim or the Berlin Liedfestival. His works are available in
published form from Inter-Note Publishers.
