Faculty Position

The Music Department at New York University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor or recently tenured Associate Professor, to begin September 1, 2008, pending budgetary and administrative approval.  We seek a creative, intellectually flexible colleague who engages the music and/or aural cultures of the recent past, who is eager for interdisciplinary conversation, and who can contribute to the diversity of the department's offerings.  Except under unusual circumstances, applicants should have a Ph.D. or expect to hold one by the starting date. 

Applicants should submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation to Michael Beckerman, Chair, Music Department, Arts and Science, New York University, 24 Waverly Place, Room 268, New York NY 10003.
