Suzanne Cusick

Research interests:
music-making in relation to identity and embodiment, feminist approaches to music history and criticism, queer studies in music.

Dr. Cusick is currently completing a monograph on the early 17th-century singer, teacher and composer Francesca Caccini (University of Chicago Press). The recipient of various fellowships, Dr. Cusick was the first Frederick Burkhardt Residential Fellow at Villa I Tatti, the Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies (2001-2002). She has chaired the Gay and Lesbian Study Group of the American Musicological Society and served on the editorial board of the Society's journal.
