French composer Fabien Levy will discuss
spectral music and specifically the computer music program, Open Music,
developed at IRCAM. Professor Levy is a student of Gerard Grisey, has
been a researcher at IRCAM, and is currently Assistant Professor of
Music at Columbia University. He is a recipient of the French Prix de
Rome; his music has been performed throughout the world and by such
groups as the London Sinfonietta and the Tokyo Philharmonic.
