3. describe your computer situation:

• do you own or have easy access to a computer?
• if so, what operating system do you use? (Mac, Unix, Windows, etc.)
• does it have a fast internet connection (cable, dsl), a slow connection (modem), or no connection at all?
• rate your comfort with computers on a scale from 1 [=very uncomfortable] to 10 [=hacker]
• have you ever written small computer programs (scripts, word macros, etc.), and if so, how comfortable do you feel with that?
