Research interests

  • Where in the generative grammar of a language are optionality, variation, and statistical tendencies located and how exactly are they represented?
  • How does phonological variation interface with morphology (Lexical Phonology), external factors (sociolinguistics) and diachronic change?
  • Is all variation alike or can we distinguish different types of variation on the basis of grammatical criteria?
