Instructions for posters
There will be three poster sessions at NELS 32, one on each day of the conference. The Friday poster session (at the CUNY Graduate Center) features six posters, the two sessions at NYU feature ten posters each.
The posters may be set up from 8:30 a.m. and can be on display throughout the day; authors should minimally be available to answer questions about their posters during the breaks (10:45-11:00, 12:30-14:00 and, on Friday and Saturday, 15:30-15:45). Authors are encouraged to bring a hand-out that either reproduces the poster in a smaller format or describes the work in greater detail.
The conference organizers will provide for each poster an easel and a poster board with dimensions 30 x 40 in. (the equivalent of 76 x 102 cm, which is slightly smaller than A0). The board can be positioned either vertically or horizontally on the easel. Only one side of the board can be used for displaying the poster. We will also provide pushpins and tape.
Please be advised that the organizers are unable to provide photocopy services; however, there are a number of copy shops close to the CUNY Graduate Center and NYU's Main Building. Staples and Kinko's are two chains providing xerox facilities; these are represented throughout the City. A list of copy shops close to the conference venues will also be provided in the conference folder, available upon registration.
Each poster should include the title and the name(s) or the author(s), and a short abstract, followed by the key example material and the major ingredients of the analysis. (In the case of structures, please provide trees rather than labelled bracketings.) Use a font for the title which is large enough to be read from a distance of approx. 15 feet (about 5 metres). The rest of the poster should be printed in letters that can be read from approx. 6 feet (2 metres).
