Scope and Binding

The seminar will be based on chapters for the new "Semantics: An International Handbook of Natural Language Meaning" (Claudia Maienborn, Klaus von Heusinger, Paul Portner, eds., Mouton de Gruyter), hopefully available in draft form by mid-January, such as my own "Scope and Binding" and some related chapters. After getting a general sense of the issues we will focus on a few particular topics. Students enrolled in or seriously auditing the course will be asked to provide input regarding the choices.
The seminar may also incorporate readings pertaining to talks by invited semantics
speakers in the Syntax/Semantics Series and the Friday Colloquia.
