This seminar will deal with the semantics of ellipsis in the broadest sense. We will concentrate on two areas: ellipsis in the narrower sense, especially VP-ellipsis and NP-deletion; and quantifier domain restriction, which has also been claimed to involve unexpressed descriptive material.
