In 1998, the Institute's Visual Resources Collections assumed responsiblity
for a web page developed by Ph.D. candidate Nixi Cura, which provides links
to a number of research and reference sources in the area of Asian art and art
history. Many Institute students, and scholars in the field beyond the IFA community,
have found the site useful and extensive.

Aphrodisias Excavations
Since 1990, the emphasis of research at Aphrodisias, carried out by the Institute
of Fine Arts in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts and Science at New York
University, has shifted away from large scale excavation to documentation, conservation,
and publication. The current program has two main parts: study and conservation
of sculpture, and new fieldwork.

In 1999, the Institute's Visual Resources Department created a web site for
Professor Tom Mathews' seminar on the churches of Istanbul. The site was used
in class as a visual aid and we have posted here as well.
