Dear Fellow Alumni,

The Alumni Association has three important goals – to help alumni stay in touch, and to support todays’ students and the IFA community. To accomplish all of this, we are very active. Our annual publication of the alumni newsletter and the reunion hosted every year at the CAA conference are designed to help alumni keep connected; we raise funds through the Alumni Fellowship Fund and the Alumni Fund for the Summer Travel Grants program, which provides invaluable support for advanced PhD students researching their dissertations; we sponsor the annual Walter W. S Cook Lecture, which spotlights alumni achievement by inviting one of our own to give a public lecture at the IFA; and, we oversee the oral history program, which is documenting the many remarkable scholars who have taught and/or trained here and created lasting legacies in their fields.

If you haven’t already, I hope you will join the Alumni Association now. Through your contribution of $50 or more, you will become a member and be entitled to reading privileges at the IFA library. And, as an alumni, I hope you will contribute as generously as you can to the IFA through one of the designated alumni giving funds, the Annual Alumni Fund, which supports the activities of the Alumni Association, as well as student fellowships, and the Annual Alumni Fellowship Fund, which is solely directed to fellowships.
