Large-scale programming project or research in cooperation with a faculty member. Students should be prepared to spend at least eight hours per week on the course. May be taken more than once, but only 3 points are applicable toward an M.S. degree for which M.S. Thesis Research points are taken, and only 6 points are applicable toward an M.S. degree with no thesis.
Master's Thesis Research G22.3840 Prerequisite: special departmental permission. Open to students engaged in master's thesis research. May not be taken by students who have received more than 3 points of credit for G22.3813. 1-3 points.
Ph.D. Thesis Research G22.3860, 3862, 3864, 3866 Prerequisite: special departmental permission. Open only to students who have passed the oral preliminary examination for the Ph.D. degree. 3 points per term.
