This pin is from the site of Dun Ailinne, an Irish Iron Age site traditionally associated with the Kings of Leister. In collaboration with Dr. Doug Campana, Dr. Crabtree is completing the analysis of the animal bones at Dun Ailinne, which has produced the largest faunal collection from any Iron Age site in Ireland.
This Peregrine Falcon skeleton is from the Middle Saxon site of Brandon in eastern England. Dr. Doug Campana and Dr. Crabtree identified over 150,000 bird and mammal bones from Brandon in 1990 and 1991 and are now in the process of preparing the data for publication.
