New York, will discuss the relationships among installation,
performance, and photography in their work.

of charge. No reservations. Seating is limited. Co-sponsored by the

Neutrality In A New Political Environment:
Contemporary Swiss Foreign Policy
Wednesday, April 23, 6 pm, followed
by a reception
Lillian Vernon Center for International Affairs,
New York University
58 West Tenth Street (between 5th and 6th
Aves.)
In a
Swiss referendum in March 2002, 55 percent voted in favor of joining
the United Nations, ending decades of political isolation and
reversing the rejection of a similar referendum in 1986. Why did
Swiss voters and cantons change course now? How does this affect
Switzerland's centuries-old tradition of neutrality? What does this
portend for Switzerland's future relationship with the rest of
Europe? Ambassador Raymond Loretan, consul general of
Switzerland in New York City, shares his views on this historic
moment.
Free of charge. For required reservations, call
212/992-9091 and leave your name, address, phone no. and title of
event. You may bring one guest and must leave their information as
well. Registrations will be confirmed the week prior to the lecture.
Co-sponsored by the Lillian Vernon Center for International Affairs
and the Grey Art Gallery.
All public programs
are offered in conjunction with “Not Neutral: Contemporary Swiss
Photography.” The exhibition is on view at the Grey Art Gallery, New
York University,
April 15–July 19, 2003. |
