Stella Vincenot
Stella was born in Guadeloupe, French West Indies. She first studied philosophy and is now a doctoral candidate in French Studies and French Literature. Stella's research focuses on political rituals in post-emancipation Guadeloupe. She studies several kinds of public celebrations, commemorations, inaugurations, state funerals etc. to understand how a former slave society integrates democratic culture.
