Robb Rutledge is a graduate student in the Center for Neural Science. His research examines the neural basis of human decision making and focuses on the role that the neurotransmitter dopamine plays in learning about rewards. He uses simple decision-making tasks to evaluate how patients with depleted dopamine due to Parkinson's disease learn about rewards and to measure neural responses during the decision-making process using function brain imaging. His research borrows techniques from neuroscience, economics, psychology, and computer science.
