Magalí Armillas-Tiseyra is a third-year PhD candidate in Comparative Literature. Her research interests include gender theory and psychoanalysis, theories of the archive, and travel narratives; her current literary interests are nineteenth-century Latin American literature, eighteenth-century British literature, and African literature. Prior to coming to NYU, Magalí completed a BA in English and Creative Writing at GWU, and, when not reading "professionally," loves a well-crafted short story.
