The great public servant, John W. Gardner contrasts two forms of
institutional behavior, the nurturing of "seedbeds" versus the
intolerance of "dead wood." The Graduate Forum has been established
by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences with the goal to
nurture and cultivate a seedbed that will in
turn foster innovative and creative thinkers.
