- About the Global
Beat Syndicate
-
- The goal of the Global Beat Syndicate is to reinvigorate
global reporting by supplying provocative and authoritative articles
that add fresh insight and vital information for op-ed and news
pages in print and on-line.
-
- The GBS is a service of the Center
for War, Peace, and the News Media, an international media
support organization based at New
York University's Department
of Journalism and Mass Communication.
-
- The GBS website is managed by the Global
Beat Syndicate Staff.

-
- Not the Same Old Story
-
- Every week, the GBS provides new perspectives on critical
global issues. GBS stories range from front page concerns like
ethnic conflicts in the Balkans, nuclear smuggling in Russia,
and the financial crisis in Asia, to less covered but equally
vital themes such as global migration, environmental security,
and information warfare.
-
- Contributors include prominent specialists and correspondents
from government, academia, policy institutes and the media around
the world.
-
- Most GBS articles are between 700 and 850 words, and are
suitable for op-ed pages, Sunday perspective sections, and/or
news analysis columns. Wherever possible, GBS articles will include
"value-added" notes for editors, such as Web links
for further information.
-
- The GBS can also provide articles or writers upon request,
utilizing our extensive global network of experts.
-
- Obtaining GBS Articles

- Previews of the week's upcoming articles are highlighted
every Monday night on the Global
Beat Syndicate home page.
