Though you will need to maintain a solid focus on your academic obligations at NYUL, you will also want to take advantage of some of the incredible range of events and activities available in London to enhance your overall experience.
It is important to ensure that you make the most of the free time you have; luckily, socialising in London is easier and more natural than it might be on a larger campus. Students meet each other in their NYUL classes and in their housing and form friendships with other NYUL students, both from NYU and from other US colleges, which last throughout their undergraduate studies and beyond.
With students regularly meeting each other in their classes and within housing, and a host of programming activities scheduled in housing and all over London, it is relatively easy for NYUL students to form close and lasting friendships with each other, whether they are from NYU or other US colleges.
Besides making friends among the NYUL community, there are approximately 800,000 full and part-time students in London and NYUL students are afforded every possible opportunity to socialise with them. All NYUL students become members of both the University of London Student Union (ULU), and International Students House (ISH). These venues offer an extensive network of student clubs, societies, and other organised social activities, and are a fantastic way for NYUL students to meet new friends from outside the NYUL programme, in safe, friendly environments and to become an active part of London’s student life. Your willingness to get involved is all that is needed.
