student life

European links

An important part of study abroad is the ability to travel, both within the UK and in Europe more widely.

We often find that students 'short change' their experience of the UK by failing to travel to the many interesting locations in the UK outside London. For example, London to Scotland and the North of England, or London to Wales, rail travel is fast and frequent; if booked with a student travel card, it can also be very affordable.

NYUL also offers several organised trips each semester to places of interest in the UK.

With the advent of cheap European flights, travel across Europe is also well within the budget of NYUL students, although train travel via the Channel tunnel is also an experience worth considering. NYUL arranges the semesters to include a one-week fall travel break and a two-week spring travel break, to allow students to take advantage of some of the more wide-ranging travel opportunities.
