NYU in London new Visiting
Professor: Mr. S.I. Martin

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. S.I. Martin as NYU in London Visiting Professor for the 2009-2010 academic year.

S.I. Martin is an author and researcher specialising in the histories of minority populations in the United Kingdom. His non-fiction publications include Britain's Slave Trade and Lambeth 1807. Hodder Children's Books has recently published the second book of his Jupiter Williams trilogy - Jupiter Amidships.

S.I. Martin is the founder of the '500 Years of Black London' walking tours and is an ardent champion of the capital and it's attractions. Through his museum consultancy practice, he has worked with the Museum of London, the Imperial War Museum (catch the 'War to Windrush' exhibition, if you can - it ends November '09), the Victoria and Albert Museum, English Heritage and the National Trust.

S.I. Martin will be contributing to a number of courses during his appointment; in the Fall 2009 semester these will include Introduction to Black Urban Studies and Issues in Contemporary British Politics & Culture. He will also host a master class on writing.
