Academics

NYU in London’s core mission is to provide a first-class education to its students, so it comes as no surprise that alumni of the program count their coursework in the program as some of the most enriching of their college careers. In particular, students appreciate the ways that professors incorporate the city into the curriculum, providing them with an opportunity not just to read about the world around them, but to actually experience it first hand.

Freshmen courses

The Freshman Programme in London provides a broad based liberal arts curriculum with courses ranging from the History of Western Art to Psychology to Economics.

The teaching faculty are recruited from the University of London and other respected British institutions, all with many years experience of undergraduate education. Classes are NYU courses, taught mainly by faculty from British institutions, providing the Freshman Programme with its own distinct style of learning. All freshmen are required to take a minimum courseload of 16 credits (4 classes) per semester.

Attendance policy
NYUL has a strict policy about course attendance and all unexcused absences attract a grade penalty. For full details please see here.
