The NYUL Academic Centre perfectly illustrates the very best of historic Bloomsbury - an elegantly converted Georgian house, dating back to the early 19th century, which faces an attractive garden square.
Some classes are held within the 1 seminar room and 3 classrooms available at the facility, but many are held in classrooms situated only a 5 minute walk away at Birkbeck College, University of London. Birkbeck College's website can be visited for further information: http://www.bbk.ac.uk/
Faculty frequently take the opportunity to lead excursions and class-related visits to relevant sites beyond the Academic Centre, whether in London itself or elsewhere in England.
Besides classroom space, the London centre is also home to administrative and faculty offices, two computer labs containing 25 Windows-based computers and 14 Apple iMac computers (with a photocopier / printer in each lab), and communal areas for students such as a lunchroom, a student lounge and an assigned study lounge. In the student lounge, students can utilise reference copies of weekly and bi-weekly publications such as Time Out, The Voice and The Gay Times (and many more), whilst in the study lounge periodical publications such as Nature and New Scientist are available. The London centre is also wireless and we therefore recommend that students bring laptops whenever possible.
