About Us
The LA PIETRA International Conference and Events Center, home of New York University in Florence, is a 57-acre estate nestled in the hills overlooking the city. VILLA SASSETTI one of the estate’s historic villas, has been restored and exclusively designed for conferences. It provides the ideal environment for the most demanding business gatherings. It houses spacious and specially designed meeting rooms supported by an ultramodern computer lab, AV equipment and video conferencing facilities enhanced by a dedicated conference support staff, concierge service, dining facilities, loggias and a large terrace and formal garden for outdoor functions. La Pietra provides the ideal setting for international meetings, dialogues and symposiums. We continue to host heads of state, government officials, business executives and scholars every year.
The following are some of the types of conferences that we organize (see photos of these in our Gallery):
- International academic conferences – medium to large size conferences (up to 350 people). Parallel sessions can be held in our seven conference rooms located in Villa Sassetti while plenary sessions can be held in Villa La Pietra’s Limonaia (lemon house), which can be set up as an auditorium for 350 participants. We are fully equipped to handle any conference need.
- Summit meetings – exclusive, high profile meetings. Villa Sassetti’s closed-circuit video surveillance system helps monitor events where the security of high-level guests is of utmost importance.
