The O-1 visa (Alien of Extraordinary Ability) is a temporary work visa used for foreign nationals in the sciences, arts, education, business, athletics, or motion picture/TV production who have been recognized as having sustained national or international acclaim for extraordinary ability. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) defines extraordinary ability as a “level of expertise indicating that the person is one of a small percentage who have risen to the very top of the field of endeavor.” To qualify, extraordinary ability must be demonstrated by certain specific evidence. For more information about the O-1 including a list of extraordinary evidence requirements please visit USCIS’s O-1 Information page.
