Homestays

NYU Madrid offers you the option to live in a homestay, an NYU-approved private Spanish home. This will help you improve your Spanish while being immersed in the rhythms of Madrileño life. 

Apartments

Apartments are also available on a limited basis. These apartments are not owned by NYU (other NYU students recommend them). The NYU Madrid housing coordinator is available to help you find accommodations that suit your individual needs.  

• Single or Double occupancy
• Shared bathrooms
• Meal plan option that includes breakfast and one hot meal (usually dinner) or access to the kitchen (buy your own food and cook your own meals)

• Two to five students per apartment
• Fully furnished apartments, including towels, bedding, kitchen utensils, etc

• Housing charge is not included in the NYU bill, payments are made direcly by the student to the homestay mother in Euros.
• Encourages you to practice Spanish all the time
• If you chose to let your senora cook for you, you get authentic Spanish homemade meals everyday. 
• Dietary restrictions could make it hard for the senora to cook for you
• Be respectful at all times as you are living in someone else's home
• An on-line housing form needs to be filled out indicating housing choice as well as preferences and priorities. NYU Madrid will try to match you up as best as possible with your requested requirements and needs.

• Convenient and located throughout the city
• NYU provides assistance or students can search for housing on their own
• Having people over is not an issue
• Not the same cultural experience as a homestay
