Housing

All students in the NYU in BA program are required to live in NYU-arranged housing. This is a condition of participation/enrollment in the program.

NYU in Buenos Aires staff will always endeavor to accommodate student preferences; however, due to space limitations, students may be placed in any of the housing possibilities regardless of preference.

NYU Residence Halls

Residence halls are managed by ENTIS (San Telmo) and Alfa 2000.

The ENTIS Residence is a typical Argentine University Residence that offers the best option for student accommodation in the city of Buenos Aires. It is located in the oldest “barrio” (neighborhood) in Buenos Aires: San Telmo.

San Telmo is one of the nicest areas in the city of Buenos Aires. Characterized by its colonial buildings, cafes, tango parlors and antique shops. The streets are often filled with artists and dancers and lots of tourists.

The ENTIS Residence offers security and comfort, in a quiet and a relaxed atmosphere where you can live while you study in Buenos Aires. ENTIS residence receives students from different Argentine Universities and also foreign students coming for an exchange experience.

The Residence offers double rooms.
Each room has a personal desk and a bookshelf. All rooms have windows, which assure excellent ventilation and daylight

The Alfa 2000 Residence is a 2500 square meter building just 8 blocks from the NYU in Buenos Aires Center. This residence was designed and built to house university students and offers double and triple rooms. The residence is located in the central part of the city, close to public transportation and the shopping district.

Homestays

Homestays for the NYU Program in Buenos Aires are provided by Visiting Buenos Aires.

Homestays allow students to live as a guest in an Argentine household. They've become increasingly popular so availability may be limited.

There is no "typical" kind of homestay. Some homestay hosts are traditional families with children, while others are single individuals or couples. Some families have pets, some host more than one student, and others host just one student at a time. The amount of contact between the family and the student also varies.

Homestays are an excellent way to become fully immersed in Argentine culture. Most Argentine families speak some English and make an effort to understand and be understood. Students who live in homestays tend to learn Spanish very quickly and experience Buenos Aires in more meaningful ways. NYU's host families are accustomed to hosting students, so they are receptive to cultural differences.
