Washington DC has a unique culture that is rooted in cultural immersion, political activism, and public service. Washington, DC is home to more embassies than any other city in the world. If you add in the cultural centers and international organizations such as the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank, you have a truly wide-ranging mix of international culture, art, music, dance and cuisine.

Not to be forgotten, Washington, DC, in its own right is a cultural epicenter with it's own contributions to jazz, art, cuisine and style. Unique to DC is GoGo Music, with lively beats and fast tempo, this style of music is not to be missed while in The District. Visit Blues Alley or historical Anacostia.  Check out a foreign film festival at an international cultural center or visit Meridian International Center for a rousing panel discussion.
