Keith oversees all aspects of operations and administration for the study away site.

Caroline oversees finance management and budget planning, Human Resources functions, and coolaborates with each department to ensure smooth daily operations in the site.

Peggy assists in finance and operations, and handles administration and logistics for the site.

Lisa Hoecklin has international experience in business and academics.  With a background in Social Psychology (BS, Carleton College) and Business (MBA, Washington University), she spent several years in corporate psychology consulting in the US and Europe. After completing a PhD in Social and Cultural Anthropology at University of Oxford, her academic research focused on gender and social policy in Germany.  Since relocating to Shanghai in 2007, Lisa has taught in the Anthropology Department at Fudan University, studied Mandarin at ECNU and worked on ethnographic consulting projects.  She joined NYU Shanghai in August 2012.

Diane is a native of California and moved to China to work on international education after earning an Ed M in Human Development and Psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. From 2004-2005 she was a U.S. Fulbright Scholar in China in 2004-2005. She is active in the Chinese NGO development field and is the co-founder of the Rural China Education Foundation.

Joyce has been with NYU Shanghai since its inception in the summer 2006. She helps organize content course logistics and coordinates academic field trips and makes academic travel arrangements, and manages day-to-day academic office administration.

David completed his B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature at UCLA before moving to NYC where he received his M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Steinhardt at NYU. He has worked in the Office of Residential Life and Housing Services in multiple capacities, Semester at Sea, and looks forward to support the student experience in Shanghai. David has a passion for photography, traveling, and great food.

Judy is graduate from ECNU and worked as an advisor in the School of Design. She oversees all our collaboration with ECNU and student activities/club management. She joined the NYU Shanghai team in Summer of 2011.

Patty oversees our community service and on campus housing programs

Haohao has been working with NYU Shanghai  since 2010 Spring after having completed her master's degree in International Education at East China Normal University. She oversees off-campus housing and Internship program.

Sarah Yang Mumma received her Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University in New York City with a focus in mental health counseling. She is a licensed social worker in the state of Pennsylvania, USA. Sarah has experience providing counseling for a wide range of concerns in both college and community behavioral health settings. Her counseling approach integrates techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy and strength centered counseling. She is originally from Taiwan and spent her formative years in the USA. Her biracial and bi-cultural heritage and extensive travel experience have influenced her to take a special interest in identity formation, particularly as it relates to racial perception and cultural experience. Sarah relocated to Shanghai in 2010, and joined NYU Shanghai in January 2012 on a part-time basis.

Qiyi Zhang is Assistant Director for Chinese Language Program at NYU Shanghai and has a MA in Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. She has been teaching Chinese to foreigners since 2002. Ms. Zhang taught for two years at Zhejiang Normal University and three semesters at CIEE before joining NYU in Shanghai in August 2006. She is mature, well-organized and very dynamic in classroom instruction and highly evaluated both at NYU Shanghai and other teaching institutions for her sense of responsibility and skillful teaching. Her research interest centers on Chinese language pedagogy and cross-cultural studies.


Chen Peng graduated from the International Chinese Study College of ECNU with a M.A. degree in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. Chen Laoshi has been teaching in NYU Shanghai for almost 2 years. Before joining NYU Shanghai, he had taught elementary-level and intermediate-level Chinese for more than 3 years at ECNU, USST and CIEE.


Xiaobo Shui received her MA degree on Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from East China Normal University (ECNU) in June 2012. She worked as a Chinese teacher in University of Virginia Shanghai summer program in 2010 summer vacation. And then she took internships in the Alliance for Global Education as a part-time Chinese teacher in the past two years. Meanwhile, she worked for Critical Language Scholarship program as a Chinese teacher in 2011 and 2012 summer vacations. During the past 3 years, she taught all kinds of courses for students at different Chinese levels, such as oral Chinese, Chinese newspaper reading, Chinese culture, and ancient Chinese, etc.


 

Chai Jing, graduated from Institute of Global Chinese Language Teacher Education, East China Normal University, has over four years experience of Chinese language teaching, focusing on elementary and intermediate level. With one year teaching in Washington and Lee University in US and three years in other universities and institutes in Shanghai, Chai has developed a dynamic and tech-based teaching style.

 

NY Site Representative

Alejandro

Alejandro is the site representative for NYU Shanghai, NYU Madrid, and NYU London.  He is a graduate of NYU"s International Education master's program.  He is excited to assist students in their preparation for studying at NYU Shanghai!
